Today was a day of rest. It’s a good thing too because my calves weren't sore, but my armpits were. How in the world do you get sore arm pits? Either I did something wrong with the arm and bench exercises---or I was working parts that I didn't know that I had. I decided to do the Yoga for Dummies tape that Randall loaned me. Not because I'm diligent, but because I went to my Dad's for a Guamanian barbecue after I got off from work yesterday and ended up eating every calorie that I burnt off this whole week. I only get those once or twice a year, so this wasn't an unpardonable sin, therefore I didn't wake Chrissie up to join me for yoga. All I can say is that I need a Yoga for Ignoramuses tape. How in the world you're supposed to breathe in at some points and breathe out at other points while sounding like an ocean completely eluded me. I did most of the moves, but I'm sure that I did them wrong. The instructor said things like, yoga is not a competition, and relax your face (right at the point that my face was completely unrelaxed), and things like that. Here's the only REAL issue I had with her, she said something like, "If you can't actually get into the position, imagine yourself getting there and it will still be effective." If that were the case, couldn't we all just stay in bed for an extra hour every morning imaging ourselves running 5 miles and lose weight?
